Rog Podcasts: Part Eight Covering the 2013 AVN Awards Voting

As I did last year, I am going to do a series of podcasts focusing on the 2013 AVN Awards. I will post the clips here for you to enjoy.

As a voter for the past several AVN Awards, I have been lucky enough to take part in this huge event. The podcasts will cover the process as well as break down several of the categories. They will highlight some of my favorites and discuss some interesting choices and the “can’t miss” titles/performers from the past year.

I hope you enjoy these. As always, your feedback is very welcome. Let me know what you think of the podcasts, the categories, the voting, tell me I am wrong or just tell me how fucking great this whole thing is.

Here is the complete series of 2013 AVN Awards voting podcasts:

Part Nine: Best Star Showcase, Best Supporting Actress, Transsexual Categories & Clever Title of the Year, etc.
Part Eight: Best Marketing, Best Parody Comedy, Best Parody Drama, etc.

  1. Houstondon says:

Showcase: These are some of my favorite titles, a couple of companies way ahead of others in the genre at this writing (you mention them in the pod cast). If you step back just a bit, the approaches taken greatly impact how good they are, some of them changing my overall opinion of certain performers.

Supporting: Tough call in some cases due to how small some roles were.

Tease: I love tease and wish nominees were devoted tease scenes rather than a couple of minutes leading into a full scene.

Individual scenes: Often tough calls when a scene is taken out of context.

TS: The evolution from the GayVN awards to the AVN awards has been a bumpy ride to say the least. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to some of the issues, especially the recent blowout they had over nomenclature. Some of the most vocal in the TS community do not want to discuss issues openly, they simply want to issue demands and then act surprised that the world refuses to cater to them. I’m still exchanging emails with a few of the more open types who are okay with a dialogue.

Young Girl: Many use the same performers, making it easy to compare the ones handling technical matters better.

    Titles: Funny.

Affiliates/Companies/Web: Not generally my area, curious if typical readers care myself.
