Tim Connelly Writes: From: Tim Connelly Re: The Plane Crash in Hollywood Las Week
A dear friend of my girlfriend’s was in the building in the Fairfax district that was hit by the small plane. She is 25 years old with no insurance and she’s five months pregnant and uninsured. Her husband has been undergoing extensive burn surgery– he is a graduate student who is also uninsured. Like many people that age (I was one and most of us were/are) we count on serendipity, luck and hope to get us through our youth. This couple is in really bad shape and has no place to live.
The Red Cross has provided them with some assistance but it won’t be enough to rebuild their lives, as they lost their apartment and everything that they owned and she is three months from giving birth.
When something like this happens I think it’s up to all of us to do what we can to help. I know this has nothing to do with many of you personally but it’s a good cause. I’m also personally collecting clothing, appliances, furniture and household items to help this young couple rebuild their lives.
The Red Cross has set up a bank account, in their names. Checks can be made payable to the Casey and Andrea Cunningham Fund (set up by the Red Cross at Wells Fargo) and sent the address listed below.
