Reader Email: Deep Thought on Porn
Follow Up to Open Questions
As many of you know, I do a couple of shows over on RadioDentata.com. Last week, on my show, Rog’s GPS (Generic Porn Show) I discussed porn in long term relationships (Thank you Don Houston) and the effects porn has on both individuals as well as couples. I left most of the questions wide open for listener feedback.
I got the following reply that brings up some very interesting issues.

Dear Rog,
What an interesting GPShow that aired earlier tonight! Below are my responses to your open questions:
PORNOGRAPHY FOR COUPLES (WHAT ABOUT LONG TERM ENJOYMENT)?: Web 2.0 became a popular trend, in my opinion, to standardize the user-friendly functionality in each of its implementations. This served as a breakthrough across performer/studio to consumer barriers that were once implied to establish supply verses demand balance in the content market(not to mention: guaranteeing professional performers a high success rate). The flood of content produced by novice consumers has lowered everyone’s expections to a further degree than when naturism was openly accepted by hippies at Woodstock festivals. We can’t change our innate tendency to harvest our intimate feelings into something bigger that our partner feels stronger about. This applies especially after one or both partners have focused their attention porn. Here’s a mathematical approach based on a probability formula. I chose this analogy because there are only two genders of a heterosexual couple and each half has the same odds of watching certain porn niches. _How many different outcomes are probable given the couples’ circumstances.? *I need to reference my Calculus book to answer this one LOL…will get back to you later.NON-FANTASTICAL:“porn plays off of our desire to be something we don’t want to be.”_ In Lamen’s terms, we know we’re not capable of such athletic endurance. The performer is always better than our best(socially, physically, and spiritually). FANTASTICAL: We are on par with our favorite pornstar and are able to share mutual pleasure. 3D porn probably enhances this.
The desire and hype created within the glorified result of someones’s photographic creativity/practice is not the core action of a porn scene. The emotional turmoil arising from once perceived taboos is the main action. People react to their psychoanalytic nature with a varying amount of awareness that they are doing so. When a third personality refers to someone’s relationship with their partner to be a synching of emotional wave patterns, it’s safe to believe that each moment when the patterns match occurs at the highest amount of intimacy…
WHAT ARE THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE TO THIS? Exposure eliminates fears of the unknown. What about Victoria’s Secret? It’s not much of a secret after prolonged exposure. Is it freakish to stand out from the crowd (the crowd of non-masturbators)? Although I’m at the young, ripe age of 22, I know that certain geographic parts of the U.S. will alienate a chronic masturbator just like the adultery woman in “The Scarlett Letter”. What do women enjoy watching the most? what are their preferences within porn?
I didn’t interview any women….I might take a poll or construct a survey for my blog.
