Blink 182: What’s My Age Again. For some reason this song always seems to end up on the iPod on good days. It has that great sing-along flavor and some pretty funny biting lyrics. “This state looks down on sodomy.” Classic.
American Girl: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. There is just something about this song that is perfect. From the breezy riff to the lyrics that are just a bit too heartbreaking for the mood. (“God it’s so painful for something to be so close, but still so far out of reach.”) Maybe the song just reminds me of what life was like before real problems crept in and made everything a struggle. Hell it still makes me happy even after being used as a harbinger of doom in “Silence of the Lambs.”
